1. Who we are
WeeTok is a short video app operated by Deltadots AI Tech Private Limited ("DeltaDot AI", "we", "us"), a company registered in Nepal. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information WeeTok collects, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It applies to the WeeTok app and website. Please read it together with our Terms of Use.
2. What we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your name, username, email address, phone number, date of birth, gender, profile picture, bio and any social media links you add.
- Your content: the videos, sounds, captions, hashtags and comments you post, and messages you send if you use messaging.
- Creator payout details: if you join the creator programme and ask to be paid, the account holder name, bank or wallet details, branch and PAN number you give us.
- Communications: what you send us when you contact support, report content or accounts, send feedback or ask us to delete your account.
Information collected when you use WeeTok
- Activity: the videos you watch and for how long, and what you like, comment on, share, save, follow, report or mark as not interested.
- Device and app information: your device model, operating system, app version, and the push notification token for your device.
- Advertising ID: on Android, the app analytics service we use (Google Firebase Analytics) collects your device's advertising ID. We use it only to understand how the app is used, not to show you personalised ads.
- IP address and approximate location: the IP address you connect from, and the country, region and city we work out from it, both when you sign up and when you use the app.
- Precise location, if you allow it: your device's location, only after you give the app permission. You can turn this off at any time in your phone's settings.
- Crash and performance data: technical reports when the app crashes or runs slowly, and app usage statistics.
Information from others
- Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Google or Apple, your name and email address from that account. If you sign in with your phone number, confirmation that the number was verified.
- Payment providers: confirmation and reference details of payments you make, such as through Khalti. We do not receive or store your card or wallet password.
- Other users: for example when someone reports your content, mentions you, or joins WeeTok through your referral link.
3. How we use it
- To create and run your account, sign you in and keep it secure.
- To show your content to others, and to choose which videos to show you, based on what you watch and interact with.
- To send you notifications, including notifications about campaigns near you if you have allowed location access.
- To run campaigns, challenges, votes, referrals and the creator programme, and to calculate and pay creator earnings.
- To process payments.
- To keep WeeTok safe: to review and moderate content, including with automated tools, and to detect and prevent fraud, spam and fake activity such as bought views, votes or referrals.
- To answer your messages and requests.
- To understand how WeeTok is used and to fix and improve it.
- To meet our legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
4. What other people can see
Your profile (name, username, profile picture and bio), the videos you post publicly, your comments, and your followers and following lists can be seen by other WeeTok users, and your public videos and profile can be opened by anyone through a shared link. Videos you mark as private, and the lists of videos you have liked or saved, are visible only to you.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:
- Service providers that run parts of WeeTok for us, under contracts that limit how they may use it:
- DigitalOcean, which hosts our servers, database and media files;
- Google Firebase, for sign-in, push notifications, app analytics and crash reports;
- Khalti, to process payments;
- Sparrow SMS, to send phone verification codes;
- an IP location service, to work out your approximate location from your IP address.
- Our marketplace: when you use shopping or affiliate features, we share your WeeTok account ID, name, username and email address with our marketplace so it can set up your customer or seller account.
- Legal reasons: with the police, courts or other authorities when the law requires it, or when we believe it is necessary to protect someone's safety, to investigate fraud, or to protect our rights or the rights of our users.
- Business changes: if DeltaDot AI is involved in a merger, sale or reorganisation, with the organisation that takes over WeeTok, which must keep protecting your information under this policy.
6. App permissions
WeeTok asks for these permissions on your phone, only when you use the feature that needs them:
- Camera and microphone: to record videos and sound.
- Photos, videos and music: to upload media you choose from your phone.
- Location: to show campaigns and notifications relevant to where you are.
- Notifications: to send you notifications.
You can refuse or turn off any permission in your phone's settings. The rest of the app keeps working, but the feature that needs it will not.
7. Where your information is stored
Your information is stored on servers operated by our service providers, which are located outside Nepal. When we transfer it, we take steps to keep it protected as described in this policy.
8. How long we keep it
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, it is hidden immediately and permanently deleted after 30 days, except for a limited record we keep for security, fraud prevention, accounting and legal reasons. Our account deletion page lists exactly what we keep and for how long.
9. Your choices and rights
- You can see and change most of your account details in the app.
- You can delete individual videos and comments in the app at any time.
- You can delete your whole account in the app, or on our account deletion page if you no longer have the app.
- You can turn off location and notifications in your phone's settings.
- You can reset or delete your advertising ID at any time in your phone's settings (on most Android phones: Settings > Google > Ads).
- You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, by writing to the contact address below.
We may need to confirm your identity before acting on a request. We aim to reply within 30 days.
10. Children
WeeTok is not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 is using WeeTok, contact us and we will delete the account. Users aged 13 to 17 may use WeeTok only with the permission of a parent or guardian.
11. Security
We protect your information with measures such as encrypted connections, access controls and limiting who on our team can see personal data. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that your information will never be accessed without permission, but we work to prevent it and will act quickly if it happens.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed. If a change significantly affects how we use your information, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
13. Contact
